CSO in Our Schools
The Charlotte Symphony believes that music plays a vital role in lifelong learning. Our mission is to nurture a passion for orchestral music in our community through diverse educational programming and robust instruction.
Instrumental Coaching
Over the course of the school year, CSO musicians visit high school band, orchestra, and piano classes to work directly with students and help them increase their overall musicianship through professional instruction.
Open Rehearsal
Open rehearsal invites student musicians to observe The Charlotte Symphony as it prepares for an upcoming concert. Students will have the opportunity to see how a piece is rehearsed and polished in a professional working environment.
Prelude Ensemble Performances
These small ensembles blend exciting music with discussion of the repertoire and their instruments.
Music & the Holocaust Lecture-Performances
Musicians from the Charlotte Symphony present a 45-minute themed, narrated program, performing music of significance from this period in history. Through the music of its era, audiences will learn about Jewish culture and the horrors of the Holocaust.
