IRA Rollover

Are you looking for a tax-effective way to make a gift to the CSO? A charitable gift rollover from your Individual retirement account (IRA) may be your best option. There is a CARES Act provision that is scheduled to expire at year's end, which is a temporary suspension of required minimum distributions (RMD) for the 2020 tax year. The IRA Charitable Rollover Act permits people age 70½ or older to make tax-free gifts of up to $100,000 directly from their IRAs to nonprofit organizations like the CSO. If the CSO receives your gift by December 31, 2020, you can count the gift as part of your minimum distribution for 2020.
