Youth Ensemble
The Youth Ensemble is a non-auditioned training orchestra that bridges early instrumental instruction and the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra's intermediate and advanced ensembles.
Rehearsals introduce the fundamentals of ensemble playing — listening within the group, rehearsal procedures, and collaborative music-making — with regular coaching from Charlotte Symphony musicians and conducting staff.
The ensemble meets once a week for 90 minutes. Students should have at least one year of instruction on their instrument and a basic level of playing proficiency before joining.
Registration opens later this summer.

We hold sectional rehearsals throughout the year for all CSYO ensembles, giving young musicians the chance to work directly with Charlotte Symphony musicians on techniques and challenges specific to their instrument.
