Ortiz's Altar de Bronce showcases Latin American rhythms and the virtuosity of trumpeter Pacho Flores in a work of molten textures and passages that allow the soloist to improvise. Ravel's La Valse closes the program with a gradually intensifying dance that erupts into an irresistible, frenetic finale.
