Wenlong Huang

Viola

Wenlong Huang is currently serving as a full-time member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed as a substitute violist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. 
 
Huang completed his Master of Music degree at Rice University under the guidance of James Dunham, following undergraduate studies at Bard College Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Steven Tenenbom and pursued a second major in German Studies. Prior to coming to the United States, he studied viola with Li Sheng at the Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. 
 
He has participated in internationally renowned festivals, including the Verbier Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and Aspen Music Festival and School. Huang has also served as Principal Viola at both the Pacific Music Festival and Aspen Music Festival. 

 

What’s your favorite thing about performing for Charlotte audiences? 

Charlotte audiences are incredibly enthusiastic and always very supportive at every concert, which I really appreciate. 

 

What's your favorite thing about living in Charlotte? 

I really enjoy Charlotte’s pleasant weather and clean environment. Both contribute greatly to a comfortable quality of life.
