Tim Swanson

Oboist Tim Swanson is an artist devoted to providing evocative and moving musical experiences. Swanson has performed a wide variety of music, seeking to make art that is in dialogue with modern audiences and the society they live in.
Before joining the Charlotte Symphony, Swanson was principal oboist of the Delaware Symphony. He has also performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Richmond Symphony, and the Virginia Symphony. Tim holds a B.M. degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with oboist Nathan Hughes and performed with many different ensembles in a great variety of settings.
Raised in Clear Lake, Iowa, Swanson first studied piano at the age of five and started learning the oboe at age ten. Performances in concert band, marching band, and jazz ensembles sparked an enduring passion for music.

I hope they find something that speaks to them.
