Comprehensive Campaign

Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center

At the heart of Charlotte's cultural landscape, the Charlotte Symphony brings world-class music to our community -- enriching lives, inspiring creativity, and fostering a deep connection to the arts. To continue this important work and ensure that future generations can experience the power of live music, we need your help.

The Comprehensive Campaign is a bold initiative to secure the financial future of the CSO by building our endowment to over $40 million with an additional $10 million to be used over five years, while the funds divest.

For many years the Charlotte Symphony's endowment has been undersized. Symphonies in similar-sized cities have endowments ranging from $40-$180 million compared to the CSO's current $13.5 million. By building our endowment and replacing the previous THRIVE Fund initiative, which has now ended, this campaign will address a long-standing structural gap within the Charlotte Symphony's funding model and bring long-term stability and sustainability.

Secure the CSO's Future

Why It Matters

This campaign is about more than just funding. It's about investing in the very foundation that allows the Charlotte Symphony to thrive.

  • Ensuring Long-Term Stability: A growing endowment ensures that the Symphony will have a lasting financial base to support its work, no matter the challenges that may arise.
  • Strengthening Our Community: The Symphony is an integral and irreplaceable part of the artistic landscape of Charlotte. This campaign ensures our cultural footprint engages music lovers of all generations "meeting people where they are,"  and our geographic reach will be greater.
  • Sustaining Artistic Excellence: Your support will provide the resources necessary to be known as an innovative, united, and diverse organization that reflects the community.
