Together we'll celebrate our return to the concert hall and share in the joy of live music after months away; we'll celebrate 90 extraordinary years of your Charlotte Symphony; and we'll celebrate Christopher Warren-Green, who concludes his tenure as Music Director this season. We'll honor the Maestro's legacy of musical excellence in Charlotte before he takes on the distinguished roles of Conductor Laureate and Music Adviser.

Classical Series

The Orchestra will mark its 90th birthday in March with a triumphant concert featuring Vaughan Williams's Dona Nobis Pacem. The Maestro has packed this season with favorites like Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, and will continue our epic journey through Mahler works with the powerful Ninth Symphony.

Christopher Warren-Green opens the CSO's celebratory 90th season with a program highlighting Italian contributions to classical music, including works by Respighi and Biber. Violinist Paul Huang returns to Charlotte for Vivaldi's beloved depiction of The Four Seasons.

BRAHMS SYMPHONY NO. 3

"Trailblazing" (Minnesota Star Tribune) conductor Roderick Cox takes the baton to lead a program anchored by Brahms's richly romantic Symphony No. 3.

Based on the classic Russian folk tale, Peter & the Wolf tells the story of a young boy's adventures with his animal friends, while introducing children to the instruments of the orchestra.
