NORTHWEST RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Our Instrumental Music Initiative is an immersive music education program in which students at Northwest School of the Arts work intensively with professional Charlotte Symphony musicians through individual, sectional, and ensemble settings.

The initiative encourages the musicians of tomorrow through our partnership with the Charlotte region's only middle and high school public arts magnet school.

The program has two core components: coaching and recital seminar.

Coaching Over the course of the school year, professional high school band, orchestra, and piano classes, CSO musicians make regular visits  to work directly with students to help them increase their overall musicianship.

Recital Seminar Created exclusively for the partnership, Recital Seminar is a unique chamber music program open to advanced high school band, orchestra, and piano players at Northwest. Charlotte Symphony musicians coach students on the skills and techniques needed to perform chamber music.
