Sep 24, 2018

First Bank and Corning, with the Stanly County Arts Council, present the Charlotte Symphony in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, 26032 Newt Road, Albemarle.

Tickets are available at First Bank in Albemarle, Locust, Mount Pleasant, Richfield and Troy plus Harris Teeter in Albemarle and the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center.

Tickets may also be purchased at the news/events tab at stanlycountyartscouncil.org.

Tickets are $10 for adult general admission and $5 for student/child general admission. A limited quantity of reserved seating tickets are available at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center for $20 each.

Stanly County students also received a free ticket, compliments of Pfeiffer University. These tickets must be used with a paid adult ticket (only 1 free student/adult ticket.)

Conductor Christopher James Lees has chosen a varied program that ranges from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, First movement, Rimsky-Korskov's "Flight of the Bumble Bee" to Loewe/Bennett's compositions for "My Fair Lady." The audience will also hear selections from Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Barber and Rachmaninoff.

The musical selections were chosen to showcase the grandeur of a concert performed by a symphonic orchestra.
