A knight to remember with Charlotte Symphony

Jan 13, 2015

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's next classics performance, featuring Strauss's Don Quixote, takes place this weekend at Belk Theater.

The Symphony welcomes guest conductor Gerard Schwarz and his son, cellist Julian Schwarz, for this special performance.

Gerard Schwarz serves as music director for Greensboro's Eastern Music Festival and led the Seattle Symphony Orchestra for nearly three decades.

Principal Violist Ben Geller, who joined the Symphony in January 2014, will also play a large role in the piece.
This performance continues the Symphony's celebration this season of the 150th birthday of Richard Strauss.

The concert will also include Rossini's Overture to William Tell and Liszt's Les Preludes.

Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17. Ticket prices range $19-$89.

An open rehearsal will be held on Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. at Belk Theater. Cost for open rehearsal is $20.
