Classroom Classics

CSO Classical Concerts are streamed into local band and orchestra remote classrooms so students can experience the power of a professional orchestra. Teachers will have access to pre-concert resources such as program notes, video concert previews from CSO conductors, and interviews with guest artists. $100 to receive access to 10 on-demand CSO classical concerts via unique username and password.
There are 4 classical concerts listed below, the remaining 6 concerts will be a combination of classical, pops and holiday programs, the dates and program titles have not yet been announced to the public.

Christopher Warren-Green takes the podium in our first virtual performance to lead Tchaikovsky's lyrical waltz Serenade for Strings and Grieg's Holberg Suite, a Baroque-inspired dance suite.

Resident Conductor Christopher James Lees leads a program of Americana favorites, featuring works by Copland, Coleridge-Taylor, Mark O'Connor, and John Williams.

Brahms Dvorak, November 20, 2020
Brahms' romantic and tender Liebeslider Waltzes is paired with Dvorak's sunny Serenade for Strings as Music Director Christopher Warren-Green takes the baton to lead your CSO string sections.

Mendelssohn Shaw, December 4, 2020
Written when he was 12 years old, Mendelssohn's lyrical and effervescent Sinfonia No. 7 anchors this virtual program. Christopher James Lees also leads contemporary composer Caroline Shaw's ENTR'ACTE for string orchestra.
