Fengwan Chen began her musical training at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of ten. She recently completed accelerated bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Juilliard School under the guidance of Joseph Lin. During her studies, she was appointed as a member of the New Haven and Princeton Symphony Orchestras.

She has served as Concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, performing under conductors including Andris Nelsons, Alan Gilbert, and Roderick Cox. Chen was a fellow at the Music Academy of the West, where she also took part in the Takács Quartet Seminar. She has performed at the Thy Chamber Music Festival in Denmark, the Lucerne Festival Academy, and with the Verbier Festival Orchestra.

Outside of music, she enjoys films and traveling.
