Where did you grow up? Hometown?
I grew up all over the place, as the daughter of a navy man. I spent most of my childhood in Marlboro, NY, but I spent a good amount of time in Dallas, TX, and Seattle, WA.
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any favorite hobbies?
Outside of work I love to explore other artistic art forms, whether it’s exploring an art museum, painting, or writing poetry. I also love to cook and spend time with my cats!
If you could meet one composer, who would it be and what would you ask them?
If I could meet one composer I would choose to meet Richard Strauss. I would ask him to tell me about his dad, who was an exceptional horn player and performed Strauss’s first horn concerto!
What would you do if you weren’t a professional musician?
If I were not a professional musician, I imagine I would’ve ended up in the culinary field. My mom is a professional chef and I learned from her growing up. Now many of my friends very much look forward to coming over for dinner!
What are you looking forward to about being part of the Charlotte Symphony?
I am looking forward to performing amongst such talented and kind musicians, and meeting our wonderful audience members. I have been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received after winning the position from those who play in the orchestra, and those who come to support the symphony!
