Where did you grow up? Hometown?
I grew up in Buffalo, New York.

What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any favorite hobbies?
Outside of work I really enjoy watching sports, playing video games with friends, and spending time outside. Some of my favorite hobbies include travelling and playing golf.

If you could meet one composer, who would it be and what would you ask them?
I think I would like to meet Shostakovich. His music is powerful and given the conditions he was forced to compose under, I feel like it is even more of a testament to how special of an artist he was. I would love to hear about what it was like for him during those years and how he was able to continue creating meaningful works of music.

What would you do if you weren’t a professional musician?
If I were not a professional musician I would love to be involved in space somehow. Space has always fascinated me, and being able to do research and aid in exploring the universe in any way sounds so cool. When I was a kid, however, I had always dreamed about playing hockey professionally in the NHL.

What do you look forward to most about being part of the Charlotte Symphony?
I think I am most excited about being able to get to know this beautiful community!
