Pin-Hao Liao

Pin-Hao Liao is a Taiwanese violist currently serving as Assistant Principal Viola with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the New York Philharmonic and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as a substitute violist. Liao completed her master’s degree at The Juilliard School under Professor Hsin-Yun Huang, following a bachelor’s degree from the National Taipei University of the Arts, where she studied with Professor Yi-Wen Chao.

She has held principal viola positions at both Juilliard and National Taipei University, and participated in renowned festivals such as the Taipei Music Academy and Festival, Aspen Music Festival, and Verbier Festival Orchestra. Her awards include the 2025 Global Young Musicians Competition Platinum Award and first prizes in several competitions at National Taipei University of the Arts and the Singapore Raffles Music Festival.
