Bradley Burford
On Stage
Originally from McKinney, TX, Bradley Burford started his musical education in Texas public schools at the age of 12. He then went on to obtain his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University under the instruction of Seth Orgel, followed by a masters degree from Southern Methodist University with Alexander Kienle. While in school, Bradley twice attended the Aspen Music Festival and School to play with, and learn from, pedagogues such as Andrew Bain, Eric Reid, and Kevin Rivard. In his free time, Bradley enjoys finding local trails to walk and hanging out with his pet cat, Chicken.

Where did you grow up? Hometown?
I'm originally from McKinney, TX!
What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any favorite hobbies?
Outside of the horn I enjoy video games and finding local hiking trails to walk and relax.
If you could meet one composer, who would it be and what would you ask them?
If I could meet one composer, I would love to ask Felix Mendelssohn where the inspiration for so many of his great melodies came from.
What would you do if you weren’t a professional musician?
If I was not a professional musician, I can see myself being an engineer, as I enjoy coming up with creative new solutions to problems.
What do you look forward to most about being part of the Charlotte Symphony?
I am most looking forward to joining the Charlotte Symphony for the community, and the ability to make music with such a supportive team!
