Ovens Auditorium

Cheer on your favorite boy wizard as he conquers (spoiler) teenage Voldemort. The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will be resurrecting John Williams' iconic score as the film plays on screen at Ovens Auditorium. Larger-than-life basilisks have never been so ... melodic.

(9) Wizard Fest Charlotte
March 22, 8 p.m., $15 advance, $20 day of
Neighborhood Theatre
The Hogwarts Express was supposed to depart in October for this event, but unfortunately (or fortunately), the event was delayed. In March, don your best magical attire for an evening of costume contests, Harry Potter trivia, and something called "Quidditch Pong." In total Yule Ball style, Wizard Fest will feature a DJ and dance party as well as Potter-themed drinks.

(10) Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert
April 5-6, 7:30 p.m.
Belk Theater
Watch the suns rise over Tatooine to the tune of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. They'll play the Oscar-winning John Williams score in Belk Theater as Luke Skywalker learns the ways of the Force on screen. Yes, it's "The Imperial March" live in concert, but try not to get all Force-choked up.
