Dvořák Violin Concerto

Gemma New is "a rising star in the musical firmament" - St Louis Dispatch

Leading an evening of intensity and passion, Resident Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Gemma New directs Avery Fisher recipient Paul Huang on Dvořák's dramatic and only violin concerto. Written at the peak of Brahms's creativity, his Third Symphony ends the program on a richly passionate note.

After hearing Brahms' Third Symphony, Dvořák exclaimed: "What a mind, and what a soul the man has!...It is sheer love, and makes the heart leap to hear it..."
