Rachmaninoff Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini

Paganini, wizard of the violin, meets Rachmaninoff, wizard of the piano.

The result? One of Rachmaninoff's most popular works, with a captivating melody featuring variations on Paganini's 24 Caprices for violin. Mussorgsky's visually evocative showpiece, Pictures at an Exhibition, inspired by his walk through an art exhibition, carries listeners through a spectrum of emotions. A recently discovered Stravinsky work rounds out the program.
