Don't just sing in the shower; join the Oratorio Singers of Charlotte!
The Oratorio Singers is the official chorus of the Charlotte Symphony and the premiere chorus in the region. Membership is by audition.
Mid-season auditions for new member admission are on Tuesday, January 5th and Tuesday, January 12th, 2010. There are a limited number of audition times available; therefore, scheduling priority will be given to male voices and altos. The audition consists of a prepared piece of the candidate's choosing (such as a hymn, art song or aria), a range evaluation, and a short sight-singing test.
Candidates may be asked to read a brief German text. This will not be used to determine admission into the OSC, but rather to gauge language facility. An accompanist will be provided at the auditions. Please provide an additional copy of your music for the accompanist.
Repertoire highlights for the remainder of the 2009-2010 Season include Borodin's Polovtsian Dances with the CSO's music director designate, Christopher Warren-Green; Beethoven's Symphony No. 9; and an OSC spring concert featuring the Rachmaninoff Vespers.
