The Charlotte Symphony provides opportunities for audience engagement before and after concerts. We strive to make the entire concert experience an entertaining, engaging, and educational experience.       Come early and get the inside scoop! Prior to Classical concerts, the Charlotte Symphony presents informative and engaging pre-concert conversations. Assistant Conductor Christopher James Lees and, when related to a choral work, Director of Choruses Kenney Potter will provide provocative and amusing insights about the evening's program. Duration: 25 minutes. Please feel free to drop in at any point during the conversation.

      Post-concert talks are your chance to ask your burning questions about the performance. Hear personal stories from guest artists, and connect with fellow concertgoers and music lovers. Please feel free to drop in anytime during the conversation.

      For the 2016-2017 season, post-concert talk-backs will take place after the Schubert "Great C Major" concerts on January 6-7, 2017 and after Dvorak Symphony No. 7, March 24-25, 2017.

      Children explore music through hands-on activities including a lively drum circle, music-related arts and crafts, and the Symphony Guild of Charlotte's "Musical Petting Zoo." Visit various stations and participate in a fun and engaging activity time before settling in for the concert.
