Support Your Symphony

Orchestras fuel local economies, attract new business development, educate young people, and - through the power of music - unite individuals and cultures in good times and bad. As the largest arts organization in Charlotte and the region's largest professional orchestra, the Charlotte Symphony is a vital piece of the cultural fabric for our community.

Our organization, like all American orchestras, relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations throughout the greater Charlotte area to help us fulfill our mission and serve our community. As with most performing arts organizations, ticket sales cover one-third of our annual operating expenses, which means that TWO-THIRDS of our budget must come from contributed revenue.

Our donors are essential to our survival and ability to give Charlotte what it deserves... a best in class orchestra, reflecting a leading, dynamic and growing region.

There are several ways YOU can support the Charlotte Symphony and make an impact. Call Laura Collins in the Development Office for more information: 704-714-5107.

Symphony Annual Fund

Gifts from individual donors make up the bulk of the Symphony Annual Fund, which benefits annual operating support that is crucial to the Symphony's existence. Whether it's supporting musician and staff salaries, new music programs or education initiatives, the Symphony Annual Fund is used for immediate funding needs designated by the CSO.

New American Orchestra Campaign

The New American Orchestra Campaign is the Symphony's $40 million recapitalization campaign, established in 2011, to provide financial stability to the CSO and build a renewed and sustainable funding model. We rely on larger gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations to help us reach our campaign goal and work toward building a New American Orchestra here in Charlotte.

Corporate and Foundation Giving

The CSO partners with prominent community and business leaders who are dedicated to the performing arts in Charlotte and provide vital financial and in-kind support to our programs. From sponsoring a concert series to underwriting one of our education programs, businesses and foundations play a critical role in the Symphony's overall funding.

Musical Legacy Society

The Musical Legacy recognizes and honors individual donors who have remembered the Symphony in their estate plans through bequests, life-income gifts or other deferred-giving arrangements.

Power2Give.Org

In conjunction with the Arts & Science Council, the Symphony gives donors the opportunity to contribute to special projects that are most intriguing to them, such as the Winterfield Elementary after-school program, or Youth Orchestra scholarships.
