After a two-year hiatus, we can hardly wait to welcome you to the Symphony Guild of Charlotte’s 37th Designer House at Metropolitan’s MET Terraces in Mid-town, where a new era of urban living has begun. The address is 1225 Baxter Street, at King’s Drive, boasting gorgeous views of Uptown Charlotte and the brand new Sugar Creek Greenway.
From April 17 through May 16, you’ll be able to experience the fresh vitality apparent in not one but three condominiums and terraces transformed by 18 of our region’s top interior designers – young ones to watch and seasoned professionals with their signature styles – and by four experts on outdoor design. We’re sure your senses will be tickled by the newest decorating ideas that honor the past while interpreting the present; from today’s upbeat traditional styles to clean lines and just plain fun contemporary designs! These homes are lovely, luxurious yet affordable, and totally livable.
The “Empty Nester” design featuring a traditional decor is found in Unit 303. The new Urban Family with a more “transitional” look is in Unit 309, and the Young Professional is reflected in the sleek contemporary design in Unit 210.
Open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 to 8 and Sundays 1 to 6 beginning Saturday, April 17, the Designer House runs through Sunday, May 16 (it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays during the run of show). After your tour, you’ll want to shop at our ever-popular Designer House Gift Shop, at 1111 Metropolitan Avenue, open during Designer House hours.
Tickets are just $15 at the door, or go online at www.symphonyguildcharlotte.org . Groups of 12 or more may purchase tickets for $12 each. The ticket allows one admission to each unit. Retain your ticket if you are unable to complete your tour in one visit, and please come back!
Parking is free, in the parking decks just across from MET Terraces. Watch for directional signs once you’re on Metropolitan Avenue, formerly Baxter Street.
Round out your Designer House visit while enjoying a Symphony Guild signature menu special at two of the wonderful new restaurants found at The Met – Vivace and Dressler’s, or show your Designer House ticket at Zoës Kitchen and Pisces Sushi for a 10% discount on your meal.
This year, The Symphony Guild has aligned with a property that truly speaks to the times and reflects the relevancy required by developers and builders today. According to research by Robert Charles Lesser, many adults want to live near an urban area, but not exactly in its center. In addition, research shows that this group of it’s time-to-change-my-lifestyle homeowners want all the amenities – a place that appears custom built with lots of light, high ceilings, upscale appliances, superb amenities and a lively neighborhood.
Being about one mile from The Square in Uptown Charlotte, The MET Terraces meet these conditions. Easy into town, easy out of it! METROPOLITAN is in the center of the revitalization of the old Midtown Square shopping center area. In its place is a collection of restaurants, office space, quaint neighbors and easy access to interstates and designations near and far. Now you can see why we want to meet you at The MET!
In the almost four decades of Symphony Guild of Charlotte Designer Houses, over $4.5million has been raised for Guild enrichment projects, the Charlotte Symphony and youth music education for our region. For more Designer House information, go to www.symphonyguildcharlotte.org.
