Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras Announce New Season
CSYO and JYO feature region’s finest young musicians

The Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra and Junior Youth Orchestra announced today their 2010-2011 concert schedule, beginning on September 26 with a free concert at Freedom Park’s Festival in the Park.

The Charlotte Symphony is dedicated to nurturing talent in young musicians and supports two youth orchestras. Led by Charlotte Symphony violinist Dr. Ernest Pereira, the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra and Junior Youth Orchestra provide nearly 200 young musicians in the Charlotte region with superior music instruction and orchestral experience. Admission is by audition. Serving students in fourth through twelfth grades from more than 60 schools, the two youth orchestras rehearse weekly and receive intensive coaching from Charlotte Symphony musicians. They perform throughout the season.

Generous support of the Charlotte Symphony youth orchestras comes from The Symphony Guild of Charlotte, Inc., Babson Capital, and the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras Parents’ Association.
