MISSION & GOALS

Education Newsletter Spring 2011

The Charlotte Symphony has developed extensive education and outreach initiatives with the aim of creating a lasting link between music and society.

Our objectives are to create mutually beneficial partnerships that provide a broad range of educational offerings that meet the needs of the schools and the community.

These include promoting and nurturing talent and interest in music, contributing to academic achievement, and unifying diverse elements of our community. An additional objective is for the Orchestra and its players to have a greater presence within the community.

Our intent is always to develop an appreciation of symphonic music and to value its presence in our society. We do this by introducing classical music to students who would not have an opportunity to experience it, encouraging musical talent, and by reinforcing musical awareness in the community through life-long learning.
